bat man
wife and I turned vegetarian 2 months ago. Keep in mind there are two types--vegan and non vegan.
Vegans eat
only vegetables fruits and seeds
Non vegans eat the above plus anything that is NOT animal flesh. In other words--dairy is ok and even seafood.
We are of the non vegan variety and did it strictly for health. Aspiring to be strictly vegan in the future.
Some facts the average person may not be aware of when it comes to ingesting foods-
Honey--bad--shitty for you digestive system
Iodized salt--ok for slugs in the garden but plays havoc with your internal organs--sea salt is great alternative
Butter--surprisingly no problem in moderation--margerine--bad
Animal flesh--what freaked me besides the moral implications of killing creatures was the myth that humans need protein to survive, Total bullshit!!! There is enogh protein in fruits and veggies to keep body and soul togetther. The energy required bty the human body to digest meat is phenomenal--in the 2 months since abstaining I have had an incredible amount of energy.
Another thing non meat eaters notice is if you go to a restaurant the menu is 95% meat based!!!
Good luck--I have a pamphlet called the Master Cleanse which gives in depth instructions on how to detoxify the body and change your diet.
If you or anybody else wants it email me at
canuck_steve@yahoo.com and i will send it along. Going out of town-will be back Sunday....
